Alright! Alright! Excited for this one!
If you have been following me at all it is very probably that you hear me speak, and speak highly about No More Dirty Looks. I discovered these ladies, their book, and their blog in January and have since been CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN with my cosmetics, skincare, everything.
As I wrote about in this blog upon first finding them, for years I thought that I was using CLEAN products. I bought products that boasted that they are all-natural and although was befuddled with the long, unrecognizable, unpronouncable indgredient lists, they said all natural and estheticians and beauty pros assured me that they were.
Then I found the holy grail of TRULY CLEAN products No More Dirty Looks: The Truth about Your Beauty Products–and the Ultimate Guide to Safe and Clean Cosmetics Authors, Alexandra and Siobhan have done all of the research and work for us. They give us the best of the best and even home solutions, such as washing your hair with Apple Cider Vinegar (I have been doing this for 6 months now). Along with giving loads of recommendations, they expose the unregulated cosmetic industry.
What you put in your body matters, so does what you put on your skin. So….. I am happy to announce a Giveaway with my girls from No Dirty Looks this week! Three winners will be picked at random to win a copy of the book. Trust me, you want this book!
Here is a little niblet about what they get into:

They found out all kinds of things the cosmetics industry doesn’t want you to know, and now they’re going to share it with you.

I seriously love this book and their regular blogs and you will, too!
It’s time to complete the “cleaning” cycle. I have started to eat clean, now I need to apply, slather & spritz clean too!
I’ve started going clean cosmetic wise and I can’t wait to delve in more. I saw one of the lovely ladies of No More Dirty Looks speak at a conference and I’ve been wanting to get the book ever since. It’s scary to think these chemicals go inside our bodies and leak into our water supply on a daily basis.
well i’m excited about going clean because with all the chemicals out there that go unregulated…i really want to know what i’m putting on my skin!
I’d love to make the switch! This looks like a great book 🙂
So many of the skin care and makeup products we use contain toxic chemicals. Many moons ago I read a report that stated that many of the chemicals in products we use are not even FDA approved. So I try to make informed choices whenever I make a purchase. Over the years I have made my own cosmetic concoctions in my own kitchen. Does save money! Oatmeal is a great exfoliator!
I am trying to go clean but can only do so little by little aka as much as my budget and knowledge allows. I got the Olie Biologique oil sample based on your suggestion in a blog a couple of months ago and love it! Knowledge is the key and your blog and tweets have kick started my learning process. This book would be really nice to have so I can enhance my journey to go clean! Thank you for all that you share!!!
I saw your post about the ladies of No Dirty Looks and was intrigued. I checked out the blog and can’t wait to read the book. I was gratefully blessed with not so perfect skin and can’t wait to make my outside as clean as my inside!
This book would be our bible, and i love what these girls are doing. I believe you can never learn too much, read enough authentic information. That’s what we’re about.
And JJ – – – which sample did you receive? Thank you Tricia for connecting us!
I want to go clean because this is one small thing that I can do start making positive changes in my life.
I love you, and your giveaways. They’re very eye opening. This post made me realize the things I am putting on my body matter. I can’t use the “Oh I don’t have the money!” excuse any longer. Apple Cider vinegar? A bottle of that is like 2 dollars at the store. I’m @spaz_mraz on twitter. Be Love, Tricia. 🙂
It’s not good enough for me to just buy products that say they’re “natural.” I’d like to know what I’m really buying and wearing on my skin, and be able to make the most informed buying decisions on truly organic products out there (not so-called natural ones)!
I am very excited to read this book….I have a very painful history of cystic pimples, especially right before my monthly friend comes to town. I would so love to read/learn how to help this situation and my skin be as beautiful as it can be, naturally. Thanks for having this contest!

I want to “go clean” because I already have sensitive skin. It’s difficult finding products that won’t irritate it, let alone ones that won’t permanently cause damage from harmful ingredients.
I have very, very sensitive skin…I NEED to go clean and don’t know how!? Thx.
I only use foundation, mascara and Burts Bees on my lips every day but I’ve tried to find products that are organic… now I guess I’ll find out how I did! I know for sure my mascara won’t qualify, but Larenim powder foundation and BB lip shimmers I’m hoping are on your “good” list!
Oh darnit – forgot to say why I wanted to go clean. 🙂 I already like using products that are less processed anyway, but I know I could clean it up further. ALL my transgressions show on my skin. I’ve noticed that my morning cocktail of Vitamineral Green and Earth makes a HUGELY positive difference but there is still room for improvement. I’ve pared down my cosmetics to just three, but I’d still like them to be as organic and clean as possible, so that’s why I can’t wait to read this book!
Thank you so much for this giveaway; I would love to win a copy! I’m a strict vegan and am very careful to use vegan bath, body, and beauty products on my sensitive skin. I’d love to read the insight that the authors have to share.
I had a download in a grocery store infront of a wall of brightly colored laundry detergents about 5 years ago and made a decision from that moment not to use another chemical on my skin (one of the four major cleansing organs in my body) again. Long story short, I now have a small scale soap making company and am passionate about making people think about what kind of toxins they are putting in and on their bodies. I truly believe that the bombardment of chemicals effects who we are, physically and mentally. Key: THINK 🙂
Thank you for your site! A true inspiration!
I have just started to transition all of my personal care and cleaning products to natural/vegan products. After a week of using clean skincare, my acne has cleared up significantly and my face feels so soft. I don’t need harsh chemicals or animal testing in my products!
I tweeted!
Oh Wendy. :/ yikes. cystic pimples? Owwie. 🙁 I hope there’s a way for those to eventually go away. Wish you all the best. <3
My skin has been a mess since highschool (I’m 27 now…), and (maybe this is vain) I would love help/guidance on “cleaning up” my skin!! Also over the past few years, I’ve become passionate about what I put into my body…it’s about time that I get passionate about what goes ONTO my body!!^^
I am detoxing other parts of my life and need to know how to detox my beauty routine!
Dear Tricia, I want to go clean because I believe the skin is a door to our whole being and I care about what we put inside of it. For some time my answer to going clean was to simply go without (most chemical products) – but I quickly realized we all need a little help from time to time to help the skin and look better. Would love to get a copy of the book to help me get it right! Thanks for sharing!
It is humbling to go back to basics and realize that you don’t need complicated and synthetic products to make you feel and look good- I already use things from my refrigerator or pantry that work wonders! I would love to simplify my life in every way, including my skincare routine.
I came across this website today because I have been searching for way to “clean” my life in all different aspects from my attitude to my skin. Thank you for sharing.
I started transitioning to clean products in November, after my best friend was diagnosed with cancer at age 32 and someone very special to me was killed in a motorcycle accident. At first, I thought to myself just how much there is in this world that we have no control of, what victims of circumstances we are. But that sentiment didn’t sit right with me; I knew we had to have more of a say in our quality of life. I decided that even if we couldn’t fully control it all, we owe it to ourselves to be as good to ourselves as we can be. The timing of this coincided with accidental findings in research showing that chemicals and toxins could have possibly contributed to my friends cancer. It became clear to me that my way of treating myself better was going to be through the products and cosmetics I use. As someone who has an excessive number of food and environmental allergies, the

As someone who has an excessive number of food and environmental allergies, the effects of the transitions I have made so far have been far reaching. I read the NMDL blog on a routine basis and the book is the next step I have planned to take in making a complete transformation. I would love to win this copy!
I’ve always worked hard to be a healthy person, exercise, eat right, no smoke, no drugs. So I was in complete shock when the doc said I had cancer. Cancer?! There’s no cancer in my family…
I wasted a lot of time blaming a variety of factor… and of course I’ll never know for certain. But regardless of the cause the cancer had to come out. Gratefully there’s been no sign of it’s return.
That was over four years ago. I’ve learned a lot and changed a lot since then. As part of my learning I discovered beauty products’ ugly big secret- that toxic ingredients make up most their volume. Yes, much to my shock. the lovely potions and lotions that had always been part of my daily regime were toxic.
But there is a bright side to all this. I’ve discovered EWG’s Skin Deep database and use it to research any product I’m even considering putting on my body. I’ve cleaned out my cupboard and have been slowly and surely detoxing. It’s been a very freeing experience.
I wash my hair with shampoo bars or a low hazard conditioner, I make my own deodorant or splurge on Soap Walla. I make my own hair gel from flax seed, moisturize my hair, face and body with natural oils, wash my face, body and teeth with a 3(safe)ingredient soap. And I’ve even begun to blog about my search…spreading the word as a public service.
But I still have SO much to learn. I would love to win this book and learn from the best!
I would love to have this book because I’m trying to buy all clean products & I’m super interested in all the time & investigating they put into this so I can try it! Excited! I’ve had the book sitting in my amazon cart since Tricia first wrote about it on twitter! Thanks! XOXO
I am in the middle of my program with a holistic health coach and we just talked about making the switch to clean products. After that session, I saw this contest….everything happens for a reason. 🙂
alixe, I got the Olìe Biologique Organic Oil Sampler which includes 2ml samples of each of their oils: Almond, Hazelnut, Argan, Rose Hip and Evening Primrose. 🙂
This sounds exactly what I want to do to improve my life! I have started a new wave with my life and I think this will definitely help! Stay clean!
