Fresh off receiving the “Performance of the Year” Scenie Award along with 8 actors including Bryan Cranston, Sonal Shah is currently starring in critically acclaimed heist comedy IFC feature film ‘Four Samosas’ theatrically released nationwide and available on most streaming platforms.
For her work in Untitled Baby Play, Stage Scene LA said, “Shah delivers a dazzlingly multi-faceted star turn as a woman whose ebullient exterior hides pain and sorrow she keeps deep within. A true tour-de-force!” Referred to as someone who “stands out” by The Hollywood Reporter, the accomplished actor was one of the first Indian-American women to appear in a
major role on a network comedy (Scrubs). Other notable acting credits include a series regular on The PTA (ABC Family), Superstore (NBC), New Girl (FOX), Better Things (FX), The High Note (Working Title), Definition Please (Netflix), Mira Royal Detective (Disney), The Powerpuff Girls (Cartoon Network), Mickey Mouse Funhouse (Disney), and stage productions including Goodman Theatre. She’s also an NBC Diversity Showcase Alum, a Second City Conservatory Graduate, an IAMA Theatre Company Member, and has a development deal with Disney+. She co-hosted the APAICS Gala in DC attended by President Obama and also sings, dances, directs and teaches acting at John Rosenfeld Studios. Named a “scene-stealer” by Salon Media, Sonal believes representation matters and powerful stories, love, and laughter can transform people’s lives.
