I have transformed my old go to sunflower seed cheez recipe, taking out any acidic ingredients. This is something that I do on tour to bypass any form of acid reflux that may form for singers. Often acid reflux problems come up from overusing the voice and although diet is not usually the cause, changing the diet to take out acidic foods significantly helps to heal it.
2 cups raw sunflower seeds
1/2-3/4 cup filtered water (start with smaller amount and keep adding as you blend until smooth)
1/4-1/2 cup Braggs of Tamari (can exchange for sea salt too, but much smaller measurement) depending on how salty you like the flavor.
4 tbls. of miso paste (I used white miso paste)
Blend it all up in the Vitamix (can use food processor) add more of less liquids. You want the final product to be a paste with all the sunflower seeds blended into a cream.
Flavor with your choice of fresh herbs is you choose! My foundation recipe takes lemon and garlic minus the miso. Enjoy and play around with it.
Great as a dip or spread.
My favorite quick, filling, energizing meal! Nori wrap with the seed cheez.
