At the beginning of the video there is a little disclaimer saying that the band has their instruments stolen in October of 2010, but they didn’t let that stop them. I love the creativity and I love that they are not letting upsets or challenges stop them. I am inspired by their gumption…and I enjoy the music, too!
After watching the video, I researched the band and found this explanation for the song.
The band’s first single, “Take Me Out”, neatly summarizes the theme of the record: “It’s a vulnerable song. It’s about letting people into your life, letting people rescue you,” explains Luke. “Admitting that you need that, and then asking for it…that’s a very difficult task, though it’s something everyone goes through at some point.”
More reasons for me to love them! In my life, I have always been a strong willed person, who didn’t want to ask for help. I can do it all on my own! But, in the last couple of years I was finally able to break down that wall and truly let others in and commit to being 100% authentic and vulnerable. I have learned first hand that being vulnerable does not have anything to do with being weak, which is what I used to create it as.
Enjoy!
OMG!! This is awesome!!!! I would love to meet them someday on a subway. It must be Orange or Yellow line…? Love how they are able to transform the unfortunate event into a positivity. and their creation is super innovative! Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Life gives us a gift of abundance.
” Letting people into your life, letting people rescue you…” It’s sort of learning about the self-worthiness. We are all worthy of receiving as well as giving. Being vulnerable is just a simple process of letting ourselves floating in the LOVE ocean.
