Get ready, I am about to talk to you about bowel movements. Yep, that is what I said.
If you have traveled overseas to places in India or Asia you may have been shocked to open a toilet stall and only find a hole on the ground in place of an actual toilet. Some holes are nicer than others, with grippings for your feet and handle bars to hold onto, and some are just plane holes. Either way, you got to squat to go.
Squatting is actually the proper way to eliminate wastes from our bodies. You see, when we are sitting on our modern day toilets we are actually making it harder for waste to pass through. Which causes extra strain on our colon which can lead to a number of problems.
The easiest way for us to remedy this and help our colons out is to put our feet up when we are on the toilet, so that the knees are above the height of the hips. All you need is a footstool. You can even start out using your bathroom waste basket.
Using a foot stool helps to more closely get the body in the natural position, but it’s still not squatting. An even better trick is to put the seat in the up position on the toilet and to squat on the rim of the commode, but that can be tricky. So, I just stick with my handy dandy foot stool.
Our tour stool even collapses with a handle, isn’t that cute! Bet, you can’t guess what he is up to….
Priceless! I will have to try this.
Thanks!
Peace and Love Always,
Jen
It sounds interesting! I should try this…
This is so weird just because the other day, I was thinking of what was better, sitting or squatting (been to India twice) and I really was in favour that squatting is better…Great article XD
And where does one get a foot stool like that?? 🙂
Thanks for the great article!
They are actually pretty easy to find. Check out a bed bath and beyond or similar store. Enjoy!
After having a long labor with a posterior birth I had tremendous trouble with bowl movements…My husband, doing the only thing he knew to help, went to the computer. He came across something about the squatting position…so I tried squatting on the stool and “ALLELUIA” peace at last! 7 years later and I still use this position and have taught it to my two daughters!!!
