Adrian Michael Green, an international speaker, educator and writer currently living in the San Francisco Bay Area, is a native of Northeast Denver where he started writing at the age of 10. As a 15-time self-published and bestselling author he is committed to sharing poetry and prose that spread messages of positivity, healing and love. One of many voices of this generation, Adrian Michael uses word magic to remind anyone who comes across his work that

they are inherently decent, good, kind, worthy and deserve to express their full selves and reach their full potential so long as they allow others to be and do the same. He has been published in UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Magazine and featured on their Science of Happiness podcast in regards to racial injustice and helping young people find purpose. Listed as one of five motivational men to be following on Instagram, founder of lovasté lifestyle brand + cultural center as well as the former Director of School Success and Head Trainer at Project Wayfinder, Adrian Michael is reminded daily of his why by looking into the eyes of his loving wife and three-year-old son.

In this episode we talk about:

  • Growing up feeling like he had a set of boxes he needed to check and never really considering what he wanted

  • How an elementary teacher inspired him to write what he felt

  • How education is freedom

  • Hitting a point of wondering who am I? After following all the check boxes.

  • Graduating and not having a clue what to do so working for Teach For America which started his career in education

  • The many ways his life worked in patterns cycling back to places he had been in different ways

  • His work in inclusivity and how we can each do our part to speak up and ask questions to schools about diversity, equality, inclusion.

  • His work training on purpose and belonging all day working for Project Wayfinder and leading him to get clearer on his own

  • What originally led him to self publish in 2012

  • How he knows a book is done

  • Societal pressures of what we are led to believe can or can’t happen

  • His growth into being a writer – full stop

  • How we don’t even allow ourselves to see our true wants because of the programming of how impossible, hard, or far fetched it is.

  • His approach to being the best writer alive
