Just now on the train, I opened up the memos folder on my phone to start a new memo to myself and I laughed. I make up a lot of notes for myself. Ideas to write about. Emails to send. Things I want to look into. The lists and notes that I write are endless. It is so great that I take the time to write these notes……but I often forget to ever look at them after they have been written. Not so great. Haha.
I often wish that I had a dry erase board that took up an entire wall of my apartment (yes chalkboard is nice, but messier). That way I would have endless room for all of these ideas that I like to get out of my head and I will always see these lists and notes that come out of me. Currently, at home I have three dry erase boards mounted next to each other in a cluster, all designated for different things. All with lists. Some with several categories. And I still almost always forget to look at them, because once these notes/ideas/thoughts are out, new ones fill up that space in my head! It is constantly going!
What I have been telling myself for months is that I want to make a schedule for myself. I will wake up at a set time. I will create my own schedule. OK, I did move across the country, work hard to get this site up and then get called away on tour, again. Then moved into a new apartment, getting all of my belongings out of storage and building a new home. So, I guess I can take myself of the hook a bit and not say for months….but I had this trouble with myself in my last home of Hermosa Beach as well.
I am ready now! I will designate certain hours to writing (book will happen). Certain days for posts. Certain days for emails. Certain days for shopping. I will pre-select the yoga classes that I will go to for the week I will structure my life (but still leave some flexibility in it…) Because I don’t answer to anyone or have anyone working under me, I don’t hold myself to things. I let myself miss wake up alarms. I tell friends visiting from out of town that I am available at their convenience and then I get perturbed when I am supposed to go meet them because I have just hit a stride.
So, get ready you note pads and dry erase boards and memo folders! You are going to be paid attention to!
How funny…I do the same things with my iphone…! I just don’t know where to keep those thoughts!!! I try not to use paper, so both my computer and iphone’s note or stickies are filled with so many good quotes, ideas and thoughts. You gotta teach me how to organize these things ;p BTW…I just had a yummy vegan pumpkin macaroon from ” Vegan Divas”. Delish 🙂
Have a happy Halloween!
Love and gratitude,
Hana
