Yesterday, I was walking home and passed by a local fire station. At the same time, coming from the opposite direction a family with a young son was walking by. The little boy was looking, stumbling in awe do the huge red truck, it was adorable. The parents were delighted and amused, but were also trying to push him along pass the station.
One of the fireman noticed the little boy and came out and offered to take him on a tour of the truck. “Do you want to get behind the wheel?”, he asked the toddler. The parents were delighted his generosity and the child was swooped up into the truck.
I was smiling ear to ear, inspired by witnessing this sweetness and generosity. Witnessing the eager, simple delight of the young boy admiring a big red truck. Witnessing his parents pure love for their child and the things that light him up. Witnessing the generosity and presence of the fireman, noticing the small boy and stepping up to offer a special treat for the family.
Pure sweet joy and inspiration on the fast streets of the city.
