I honestly get confused when people ask “How was your day?” or when they say “I hope you had a good day.” Every day is amazing! No matter what happened, it was a day. I lived. I learned. I breathed. I saw. I loved. I had emotions. And on and on and on. No day is the same. Sure some days have more exciting activities to them, but I love a cozy day at home just as much as I love a day full of big plans. I love a day hanging out with my best friends just as much as I love a day spent amidst strangers or alone.
Another thing that doesn’t confuse but actually annoys me is the use of the word HOPE! This may sound a little crazy, but my brains like to create that when someone says, “I hope you have a good day” or “I hope it goes well” or any other statement with the word HOPE that they are leaving room for disapointment or failure. Sure, they mean the best I mean they are giving me their HOPES, right? But, I choose to be even more powerful with my words. Instead of “I hope it goes well” I say “It is going to go so well!” or “You are going to rock it!”
That’s just me, living everyday and loving everyday no matter what is handed to me. It is all part of the adventure and I choose to set myself and others up for the best life ever, which means that everyday truly is the best day ever, because that day is today!
And if you want a reminder of that get you Best Day Ever shirt here!
uhmm… Lo voy a tener en mente.
Ale.
How was your day? I receive that as “I Love you” and it just comes out like How was your day. Sometimes it can mean… they really want me to ask them how their day was. Sometimes its a little place holder….holding that space…that means…I’m lonely…lets talk.
Of course they could be asking because they are fishing around in my life looking for fun things that they can do next week.
